I hope you all had a wonderful three-day weekend, and that you all took advantage of the beautiful weather! This weekend’s post is a bit late because I just got home from running in a long race. This morning, I participated in the New York City Half Marathon along with about 13,000 other people who dedicated a whole lot of time and hard work to training for 13.1 excruciating miles. The race was a lot of fun and took me about 2 hours to complete. I got to run through Times Square with no cars, it was so cool!
Anyway, running this morning made me think of you guys and your reading. As I was working away at a pretty tough challenge, I thought to myself, “What kinds of challenges do authors usually write about?” So… that is your task today. Tell me a little about the challenges your protagonist faces, how he/she handles them and whether or not he/she overcomes them. Have fun!
CRITERIA FOR SUCCESS
1. Username. Title. Author.
2. This weekend, I read ________ pages. (Fredrick, it’s THE WHOLE weekend, not just Sunday!)
3. Summarize what you read in 5 sentences. (Make this its own paragraph.)
4. Second paragraph: Describe the major challenges your protagonist faces/faced. What kinds of struggles? Physical? Emotional? Mental? Be as specific as possible.
5. Third paragraph: If you have finished the book, explain how these challenges were resolved or overcome (or if they were at all). If you have not finished, describe how your character is working to overcome these challenges. Again, be as specific as possible.
Happy reading and happy blogging!
